A fine quality 17th century torchère, or pedestal, with an elegantly turned column and deeply tiered circular base. The top surface is a flat polished disc with a finely carved and gadrooned underside. In excellent original condition with a rich colour and patina, and some minor marks to the woodwork as would be expected with a piece of this age and usage.
