Description :
A charming 19th-century French copper cake mold, beautifully shaped with a deeply embossed fruit and foliage motif. The central decoration depicts a stylized fruit surrounded by generous scrolling leaves, creating a particularly attractive relief when viewed from either side. The design is framed by a pronounced fluted border, giving the mold a strong sculptural presence typical of decorative antique French kitchenware.
Crafted from copper, the mold has developed a rich, warm patina with variations in color that enhance its authentic character. The outer edge is reinforced with a contrasting metal rim, while the original suspension ring remains in place, allowing the mold to be hung when not in use. Such molds were both practical culinary utensils and decorative elements traditionally displayed in French kitchens.
The surface shows oxidation, small scratches, discoloration and traces of use consistent with its 19th-century age. These signs have been intentionally preserved as part of the character and history of the piece.
Today, this antique copper mold would make an attractive addition to a collection of French culinary antiques, or a wonderful decorative accent displayed on a kitchen wall alongside other antique copperware.
