An exceptional French 19th-century wedding globe (globe de mariée), beautifully preserved beneath its original hand-blown glass dome and presented on a classic ebonized wooden base. This richly decorated example is distinguished by its elaborate gilt metal framework, featuring finely detailed flowers, scrolling foliage, and a charming pair of birds perched gracefully above the central mirror arrangement.
At the heart of the composition is a sumptuous deep crimson tufted velvet cushion, embellished with delicate gilt floral studs, symbolizing the precious keepsakes once displayed inside these sentimental bridal treasures.
