Description :
A charming 19th-century ceramic cachepot by Petrus Regout & Co. of Maastricht, Netherlands, decorated in the attractive blue and white “Delfts” pattern, as marked on the underside of the piece. The base also bears the Petrus Regout Maastricht factory mark and the impressed model number M12.
The cachepot features a richly detailed continuous decoration in deep cobalt blue against a warm ivory-white ground. Stylised flowers, foliage and ornamental motifs are arranged within a series of vertical panels, creating a particularly elegant composition. A moulded and fluted lower section provides an attractive contrast to the finely decorated upper body, while the gently everted rim completes its well-balanced form.
Originally intended as a decorative holder for a small flower pot or plant, this antique cachepot is equally appealing today as a standalone decorative object. Its timeless blue and white palette would also make it a lovely addition to a collection of antique Dutch ceramics.
The piece remains in attractive antique condition, retaining the subtle variations and signs of age that contribute to its authentic character. Please refer to the photographs for a detailed view of its condition and decoration.
