Description :
A beautiful 19th century Wedgwood Jasperware urn, featuring the iconic combination of a deep blue ground with finely detailed white relief decoration. The elegant Neoclassical design is characteristic of Wedgwood, with a continuous frieze of classical and mythological figures surrounding the upper section of the bowl.
The urn has a generous circular form with two gracefully curved handles, also decorated with applied white details. A delicate border of acanthus leaves runs around the lower part of the bowl, while the underside is particularly attractive, decorated with a radiating pattern of finely modeled white foliage.
The bowl is raised on an elegant flared pedestal stem, finished with another decorative band of white leaves. The Wedgwood piece is mounted on a carved wooden base with architectural detailing and a gilt-brass beaded border, adding warmth and contrast to the rich blue Jasperware.
An elegant and highly decorative example of 19th-century Wedgwood, ideal for display on a console, mantel, side table or as part of a collection of English ceramics.
