A refined 26-piece French porcelain coffee service by the prestigious L. Bernardaud & Cie, Limoges, produced circa 1960 in the elegant “Rimbaud” pattern. This sophisticated mid-century service is crafted from fine white Limoges porcelain featuring a delicate basket-weave relief that gives the surface remarkable depth and elegance. The decoration is enhanced with finely hand-applied gilded Louis XVI-inspired scrollwork, creating a timeless and luxurious appearance that reflects the exceptional craftsmanship for which Bernardaud is internationally renowned.
The service consists of a coffee pot, milk jug, covered sugar bowl, eleven coffee cups, and twelve matching saucers, making a total of 26 pieces. One original coffee pot lid was damaged and has been professionally replaced with another authentic Bernardaud “Rimbaud” lid. Although it features a slightly different floral decoration on the finial, it is an original factory component from the same pattern and integrates beautifully with the service while preserving its authenticity and functionality.
Each piece bears the printed L. Bernardaud & Cie Limoges “Rimbaud” factory mark together with the B & C° Limoges France mark, confirming its manufacture in Limoges, France. The service remains in very good vintage condition with only light signs of age and careful use. Its elegant proportions, subtle textured decoration, and rich gilding make it equally suitable for refined entertaining or as a distinguished addition to a collection of fine French porcelain.
