Description :

An impressive large Chinese polychrome glazed ceramic covered jar, dating from the 20th century, featuring an elaborate hand-painted decoration of birds, deer, flowers, and traditional ornamental motifs.

This beautifully proportioned jar displays an elegant baluster-shaped body with a generously rounded silhouette, resting on a slightly flared circular base. It is surmounted by a removable domed lid crowned with a pointed finial, decorated with cobalt blue and golden accents.

The ceramic is substantial, with thick walls and a solid, heavy construction, giving the piece an impressive decorative presence.

The entire surface is richly decorated in a vibrant palette of iron red, burnt orange, ochre, cobalt blue, and golden tones against a soft ivory-white glazed background.

The body features beautifully arranged ornamental cartouches depicting graceful deer in motion, exotic birds perched among flowering branches, and delicate floral compositions. These charming scenes are framed by intricate scrolling foliage, stylized blossoms, geometric borders, and densely patterned botanical motifs.

The domed lid continues the same decorative theme, with finely painted floral and animal motifs that complement the decoration of the body.
