This elegant French Louis Philippe desk armchair dates to approximately 1845, during the later years of the Louis Philippe period. Crafted in solid walnut with beautifully figured walnut veneers, it perfectly illustrates the restrained elegance and exceptional craftsmanship associated with mid-19th century French furniture.

The chair features the characteristic curved “gondola” back with gracefully scrolled terminals, supported by two shaped back splats. Its broad, comfortable seat is upholstered in warm camel-colored leather secured with individually hand-applied brass nailheads, complementing the rich honey and caramel tones of the walnut.
