Description :

This striking model of the Wasa combines an imposing silhouette, fully displayed sails and a wealth of ornamental detail. With its strong decorative presence, it evokes the world of great sailing ships and creates an engaging focal point within an interior.

The warm tones of the hull, finished with a cream-coloured lower section, contrast beautifully with the vivid blue painted areas, red accents and numerous gold-toned embellishments. The richly ornamented stern features figures and relief decoration, giving the model a theatrical quality. Rows of miniature cannons, detailed decks, small ladders and an intricate arrangement of ropes provide further visual interest from different viewpoints.

Three masts carry cream fabric sails with visible stitched lines. The network of rigging and rope ladders creates an airy framework above the hull, while blue and yellow Swedish flags add a lively finishing touch. The combination of colour, texture and elaborate detailing makes this an appealing decorative statement.

This is a modern decorative model; its precise date of manufacture or assembly is unknown. Its construction combines wood, fabric, rigging cord and various applied fittings. The flags are plastic, while the material of some smaller accessories has not been established.
