This striking hand-painted ceramic ewer was created by the renowned French ceramic artist Robert Picault in Vallauris during the mid-20th century. Instantly recognizable by its bold geometric decoration and vibrant palette, this piece perfectly reflects Picault’s distinctive artistic language, inspired by Mediterranean traditions while embracing the modern aesthetic that made Vallauris ceramics famous worldwide.
The rounded body is richly decorated with alternating turquoise-green spiral motifs and warm ochre starburst designs arranged in an elegant checkerboard pattern.
