Description :
A refined set of six French vermeil teaspoons, elegantly housed in their original fitted presentation case, bearing the stamp of Jules Vieillard, the renowned Bordeaux silversmith active during the second half of the 19th century. Dating to circa 1865–1880, this set reflects the high standards of French silver craftsmanship during the Napoleon III period.
Each spoon is crafted in solid silver, richly gilded (vermeil), offering both the warmth of gold and the durability of silver. The handles are delicately adorned with finely chased rocaille and floral motifs, characteristic of the Louis XV revival style so fashionable in the period. The terminals display graceful shell and scroll ornamentation, while the bowls retain a beautiful, soft gold sheen.
The ensemble is preserved in its original case, lined with a striking burnt orange velvet and silk interior, enhancing the visual contrast with the luminous vermeil. The exterior shows gentle wear consistent with age, while the spoons themselves remain in very good condition, with only light signs of use.
A charming and collectible set, both decorative and functional, embodying the elegance of 19th-century French tableware.
